Our Story
Robert and Hanna met in 1997 at Kid's Footlocker in Detroit, MI, when they were both teenagers. Despite not knowing why or how, Hanna had a feeling that Robert was going to be her future husband from the moment she saw him. A few years later, they got married and started a family together, and now they are a family of four.
Growing up in Detroit, Robert and Hanna have witnessed numerous negative events in their community, including the loss of jobs, housing, schools, mental health hospitals, recreation centers, neighborhoods, and most importantly, hope. They have noticed that African Americans in their city lead the nation in poverty, unemployment, incarceration, recidivism, and the least amount of entrepreneurs. In an effort to bring hope back to their community, Robert and Hanna have founded Xtra Hold.
Xtra Hold aims to create 500 manufacturing/warehouse jobs in Detroit by importing machines from overseas to produce aluminum foil products locally. Their mission is to provide employment opportunities to individuals who are often overlooked or dismissed by society, including those who don't fit in with the crowd. Robert and Hanna hope that their efforts will bring a positive change to their community and help those who have been forgotten.
